Filipinos have been through so much over the years. From tragic invasions, volcano eruptions to this pandemic we're going through. We are known to be resilient, to be back on our feet whenever a disaster knocks us off.
We are expected to be those kinds of things but do we really qualify for those well-known attributes of a Filipino?
Lives destroyed, businesses forced to close down, nationwide lockdowns, and a whole lot of tears shed for those who we lost just because of COVID-19. But the youth continues to live on. We are thrust to study inside our houses, unable to meet our peers and to learn on our own with little to no help. Although forced to stay inside our homes we continue to bloom and grow for our country.
In this new normal, we're all in this together. We hold hands to protect each other. Create hopes for future generations and honour those we lost. We become the voice of the voiceless, give power to the powerless, and help stand those who stumbled along the way. As youths we can protect everyone by informing and empowering people. Our desire to reach out provided an opportunity for us to unite and encourage everyone to think differently, that we as the Filipino youths can all contribute in our own ways amidst the global pandemic.
